A hometown repairs company that grew up

Gulf South Roofing started as a small Gulfport repair outfit and became one of the coast's most reviewed roofing contractors — without leaving town, and without outsourcing the work that made its name.

Our story

Jacob North was running his own successful landscaping company before he graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 2010. After five years of that, he wanted a career in project management — and found it at a local roofing company, where he was quickly promoted to Senior Project Manager over three and a half years.

In 2019 he left to build his own venture. Under his leadership, Gulf South Roofing has grown from a hometown repairs company into a reputable roofing contractor working residential and commercial projects across Mississippi — with its own office, its own crews and its own sheet metal fabrication shop at 2811 26th Avenue in Gulfport.

More importantly, Jacob is a devoted family man. He and his wife Laken are raising three children a short drive from most of the roofs the company has ever built — which is its own kind of warranty.

The company was built by a project manager, and it shows: every job runs through a named PM, every inspection is photographed, every estimate is itemized, and every roof carries a written 3-, 5- or 10-year workmanship warranty. The crews are our crews. The flashing comes from our shop. The reviews are under our own name.
