The situation
Habitat for Humanity runs a roof replacement program on the coast. Five to seven roofing contractors bid on each batch of homes, and the work is divided so no single contractor holds up the schedule. Every replacement under the program is required to meet the FORTIFIED Roof standard.
This home is in the Woolmarket area of Biloxi. The homeowners were straightforward to work with from the first meeting. The roof itself had flashing details that had been installed, but not installed right — the kind of thing that does not leak on day one and does later.

What we did
- Full tear-off; the existing flashing details torn out and replaced rather than worked around.
- Built to the FORTIFIED Roof standard: ice-and-water membrane across the full deck, sealed starter at eaves and rakes, drip edge fastened every four inches, every product and step photographed.
Habitat sends its own inspector, separate from the FORTIFIED evaluator, to check the work against the scope before a job is closed. Both reviewed this roof.

The result
Habitat’s inspector signed off with no notes. The FORTIFIED certificate was issued. The homeowners have since recommended us to family.
We have replaced more than thirty roofs through the program. Whichever way a job reaches us, the roof is built the same.
